  • Shows the final ritual for a deceased person as performed by the people of the lower Roper River. Over a period of two weeks episodes in a legend are enacted, and an important totemic symbol is built. The separation of secular and sacred activities is clearly shown, the former being accompained throughout by the beating of a wooden log gong. (An Archive Version is held in the AIAS Film Archive)
  • Illustrates journey of ancestral goanna spirit man, initiation, decoration of actors and sacred objects, preparation of site, sacred shade, use of solid wooden gongs; goanna, goanna fat and tail, barramundi, fish, turkey, mother turkey, jabiru, lightning, plains kangaroo, burned grass, honey bee, rain, boomerang, plum bird, wild black man, evil spirit dances for men, womens dancing and its role
