Summary
Wilsons Promontory lies approximately 150 miles south-east of Melbourne and is the most southerly part of the Australian mainland. The Aboriginal people of the area are the Kurnai Nation. Historical evidence can be found of their presence in the area through the discovery of stone implements and shell and bone middens scattered throughout the sand dunes
