Summary
The Family Wellbeing (FWB) program was developed in 1993 by the Aboriginal Employment Development Branch of the South Australian Department of Education, Training and Employment, as a community development approach to support Aboriginal people in confronting challenges and building capacity for employment, and is now a nationally accredited training program. In March 2014 the Lowitja Institute convened a national roundtable to consider the impact of FWB and opportunities for future development. This report explains the aims of the roundtable and shares the discussions of the day. The workshop generated momentum around five key themes for action: strengthen the evidence base, strengthen links to policy, coordinate the program, promote and advocate FWB, and connect the FWB family
