Summary
Unique to the archaeology of Australia is the fact that the archaeological record extends from ancient times to the present; stone tools made by the remaining Aboriginal people are remarkably like those which have been buried for millenia; in 1981 Yolngu Elders, Dhulutarama and Diltjima, invited scientists to accompany them on a journey to Ngilibitji, a renowned stone quarry in eastern Arnhem Land; they wished to visit it after an absence of some years and teach three younger men their skills; this film follows their journey
