- Analyses why racism continues to manifest itself in educational policy, when those formulating the policies are generally well meaning and not aggressive racists; focuses on the 1992 Senate Standing Committee Report on Physical and Sport Education (the Crowley Report); outlines the research methodology of Indigenist policy analysis; characterises conservative, liberal and radical approaches to racism and anti-racist education and relates these to Indigenous views on racism, education and physical education; outlines the recommendations in the Crowley Report which relate to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students; suggests the Crowley Report privileges liberal understandings of anti-racism and reconciliation strategies, although the report does leave the way open for the inclusion of Indigenous persepectives in future physical education policy
