In late 2003 the Daly River Community Reference Group (CRG)was set up to develop an Integrated Land-Use Plan for the Daly River catchment; the Northern Land Council contacted CSIRO to conduct a study of the Indigenous cultural values of the Daly River and associated environments; the purpose of this study was to provide a foundational document to assist the deliberations of the CRG, and to assist the Aboriginal members of the CRG; sets out research methodology and discusses measuring cultural values; significance of water to Aboriginal groups in the Daly Region; sets out recommendations including enhanced Aboriginal engagement
