The National Aboriginal Conference began operation in November 1977 and was abolished in June 1985. It succeeded the National Aboriginal Consultative Committee (sometimes known as the National Aboriginal Congress). These papers cover all aspects of NAC operations including policy, adminstration, national meetings of members, National Executive and State Branch meetings. They also documennt matters such as: relations with Federal and State governments, land rights, Makarrata (treaty), education, housing, health, cultural heritage, mining and the environment, human rights, law and justice
