Summary
Mimi Pulka is a documentary about how the Aboriginal Community is approaching HIV/AIDS education in the Kimberleys, Western Australia. As part of its AIDS education, the Kimberleys Aboriginal Medical Service in Broome designed a play to teach local Aboriginal communities about the risks of HIV/AIDS. The play, entitled 'No Prejudice' was written by Richard Mellick, with Josie Lawford acting as Cultural Advisor and Pat Lowe as script editor. The purpose of the play was to break down myths about HIV/AIDS and present the information in a way that was culturally appropriate. The video was shot during the tour of this play which journeys over 3000kms through some of the most rugged and spectacular landscape in Australia
