Summary
"Marrawah Law Pty Ltd was founded by Leah Cameron and Tom Cameron in 2013. Leah brought seven years' experience in the areas of native title and cultural heritage working for native title representative bodies and private practice as well as seven years working with the Department of Justice - Office of the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner in Tasmania. Tom brought seven years' experience in private practice in the areas of civil litigation, commercial law, family law and crime. The founding philosophy of Marrawah Law was a law firm that provided clients in the native title and cultural heritage arena with forthright, comprehensive, accurate and understandable advice and representation in relation to their property and business. Marrawah Law has quickly grown to now cover the areas of native title and cultural heritage, commercial law, corporate law and property law. In November 2013 Marrawah Law was certified by Supply Nation as a majority Indigenous-owned, controlled and managed legal practice. There are only two other Supply Nation-certified Indigenous legal practices in Australia. Leah is the Principal Solicitor and Co-Director. She is based in our Cairns office. She regularly travels to meet with clients all over Queensland and interstate. The firm also employs a Solicitor, Moana Biddle, who is based in Townsville and Greg Brown who consults in relation to policy and project matters. You can learn more about our team on the 'Our People' page. Marrawah Law has a strong sense of corporate social responsibility. We offer free seminars to traditional owners on topics such as directors duties and corporate governance. We also conduct significant amounts of pro bono work for clients without the financial means to access legal services. Leah volunteers her time to speak each Friday at 11.00am AEST on National Talkblack Radio on the National Indigenous Radio Service." -- [From 'About us']
