Summary
A group of boys cook small lizards in the ashes of a fire and eat them. Boys collect witchetty grubs 'Alpalaita' from the bark of a gum tree using a steel hatchet. The grubs are cooked on a small fire of twigs and then eaten. A group of men and boys search for excreta of the tiny native bee 'Imbana'. Following the trail of the excreta they then search for the hollows in trees. A man climbs a tree and with a steel hatchet cuts into the trunk to locate the bee's nest. The honey, which is collected on a piece of bark, is shared amongst the party of boys and men. Women search for grass seeds which have been collected by ants. The seeds are collected and then threshed using a hole dug in the ground and a tree as support. The seed is then winnowed in coolamons. After threshing the seed is ground with water on a grindstone. The floury liquid is baked in the hot ashes to form a damper. A woman is then shown drinking and washing after the work
