Summary
Link-up is an organisation formed in 1980 to help Aboriginal people find their close relatives. Between 1900-1969, as a consequence of NSW Government policy, more than 6,000 Aboriginal children were forcibly taken from their parents so they could be raised in 'white' environments. A video diary of the events, consequences and effects of a week in Sydney during 1986 in the lives of three staff members of the organisation Link-Up. Over the week, they visit five people with information about lost family members. The staff help re-unite families separated by State wardship and adoption. The groups must deal with different emotional reactions to the consequences of the government policy of removing children and help people navigate the paperwork to re-establish their Indigenous identity and family
