- Eddie Koiki Mabo will be remembered as 'the man who fought for his peoples' rights and broke down terra nullius, the legal concept that the land of Australia belonged to no-one before European settlement'. Apek Kebile is about Eddie Mabo, his love for his people and his homeland, Murray (Mer) Island in the Torres Strait. It is a story about a man who remained true to his identity as a Murray Islander in contemporary mainland Australia. The story is told through audio recordings of Eddie Nabo and interviews with his wife, Bonita, his children, his brother and the people on Murray and Darnley Island.
