Summary
This presentation showcases the achievements of Aboriginal writers and writing in Australia in the past decade. It hightlights the success stories including how the David Unaipon Awards has acted as a literary springboard for many of its winners and the increase of literary translations. Also discussed is the creation of significant resources for teaching such as the 'Macquarie PEN Anthology of Aboriginal Literature'. Strategies for teaching, learning and research that draw upon collections of Indigenous literary heritage and voice, such as Black Words, are explored
