Summary
This video is about the growth of creative and enterprising Aboriginal talent in the Northern Territory. It is a part of the 'Good News for your Community' series which helps to keep Aboriginal communites in touch with their success stories. This video starts with Warren H. Williams, the popular musician and disc jockey with CAAMA, who teams up with his friend John Williamson for a concert performance of 'Raining on the Rock'. Yothu Yindi performs with independence leader Xanana Gusmao and a cast of thousands at East Timor's first anniversary independence concert in Dili. Other stories include the Maningrida High School Band, Aboriginal Art from the Women's Arts and Craft Centre in Tennant Creek, the Wadeye Gallery, Desart's galleries in Santa Teresa and Alice Springs, and Paul Ahchee on cultural tourism. The video also covers the Prime Ministerial visit to art and craft centres on the Tiwi Islands on 20 February 2001.
