Anacleta David (nee Cadawas); daughter of Agostin (Augustine) Cadawas, diver, of Santos, Ilocos, Philippines, and Lavinia Ware of Iama / Yam Island; paternal granddaughter of Filipinos, Tiburcis Cadawas and Natalia Ramos; maternal granddaughter of Jack Ware of the Ware Islands and Odoby; sister of Josephine Satrick (nee Cadawas); born 7 February 1907; raised on Iama / Yam Island with her sister; sent to the Catholic orphanage on Waiben / Thursday Island; married Younga David; she and Younga David had children: Jack Louie, Elsie, Harriet, and William; traditionally nurtured Mika Thaiday; traditionally adopted Lena; grandmother of Josephine David-Petero; after her sister, Josephine Satrick, moved with her family to Waiben / Thursday Island, Anacleta looked after her father, Agostin; after her husband, Younga David, died she stayed on Yam Island for a while; later she worked as a cook for the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart sisters on Waiben / Thursday Island then as a domestic worker at the Thursday Island General Hospital ; she moved with Lena to live with her daughters and son and their families in Cairns; passed away 25 June 2004
