Leo Castillon; son of Setaro Castillon, a sailor of Filipino Spanish ancestry, and Kathleen Mabone, of Jowyn [Jawoyn] and Irish descent; brother of Joseph and Leo; his father, Setaro with siblings, Isabela and Joseph, went to live in Manila in the 1920s; Leo remained in Australia with his mother and the rest of the family; his father and brother, Joseph, were killed during the Japanese occupation of Manilla in World War II; married Ceceilia Roe; father of Susan, Ceceilia, Lenard, Miguel and Glen; worked on the wharves in Darwin; rose to be boss of the waterside section; ran the union; member of the Australian Labor Party from 1953; became a life member of the Party; raised funds for the Party and was an election scrutineer; after 60 years his sister living in the Philippines, Isabela, re-established contact; unable to get permission to allow his sister to migrate to Australia with her family; 600 people attended his funeral
